No Immigration Bans
ACT UP was joined by Canadian and Mexican AIDS activists to protest at a joint press conference by helath secretaries/minsters of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico announicing a new tri-lateral agreement on HIV/AIDS.
Activists listened to HIV+ speakers from the various countries speak against the immigration bans and desribe how it had forced families to remain separated across borderlines.
The press conference was cancelled because no substantive agreement among the NAFTA nations was made.
Donna Shalala, offical hypocrite of the US Health and Human Services administration, was reported to be enjoying the Vancouver sunshine.
